著名的客家小吃，流行於各地菜市場肉舖自製豬肉副食，


鹹、油、香、辣，非常下飯，胃口大開能吃數碗大米飯。


鹹豬肉是早期客家族群，逢年過節，尤其是過農曆年的時候，一次所買的豬肉很多，


為了可以將難得的肉類長時間保存，所以就將豬肉用鹽巴醃製成為鹹豬肉，


需要的時候只要切下部分就可以烹調食用，也因此客家人成為最擅長醃製鹹豬肉的民族之一。
